Camera Stuff

By KRae Merk | August 14, 2009

Recently a friend of mine asked me how I can stand a 10lb camera swinging around on my neck… … well, truth to tell, I can’t stand it. After several hours of searching on the Internet, I found a shoulder harness for binoculars, and the straps are elastic so it holds the binoculars close to you, but you can pull them up to your eyes with no problem.

The only draw back was the buckles that attached to the rings on the binoculars weren’t strong enough to hold my Nikon camera. :(

It was my brother that came to the rescue.

My brother, being a hunting freak, told me about Leupold Optics and their binocular harness. And after some research and looking at pictures, I decided that the buckles would be strong enough to hold my camera.

Boy, was I a happy camper when I slipped the harness over my shoulders! The weight is dispersed over my shoulders and back and my camera is held close to my body but I am able to bring my camera to bear in less then two seconds! :D

After using the harness, I don’t think I could ever go back to the old neck strap. :)
